Your new SD CodeFree meter is used with consumables (SD CodeFree blood glucose test strips and lancets) to measure your blood glucose (sugar) level.
The SD CodeFree system is designed to determine glucose levels both in fresh capillary whole blood taken from a finger, palm, forearm or upper arm and in venous blood. The SD CodeFree meter is used only with SD CodeFree test strips. The device is intended for in vitro diagnostic use. This system is intended for home use by people with diabetes and for use in healthcare settings to test the effectiveness of diabetes control. This system should not be used for the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, as well as for testing the blood of newborns (from 0 to 30 days after birth).
Regular testing of your blood glucose can show how you are managing your diabetes every day. Discussing these results with your doctor and his subsequent advice on drug control, exercise, and food intake will help you better control your illness.
